Mozambican stories that teach children to look after money.

Every Sunday a new story arrives from Cashew Tree Street. Children read, play and practise at home what they learnt from Zito, Neyma, Tina and Kuzi, a very wise pangolin.

How it works

A week on Cashew Tree Street

Each episode lasts a week and closes the loop between the story, the conversation and practice.

  1. Mamã Rosa at her sewing stall in the market, with Zito and TinaSunday

    Read the story

A new episode opens at 16:00. The child reads it alone or listens to it read aloud, discovers the new words and wins the card with Kuzi's Saying.

  2. The School Fair, with the children at their stallsDuring the week

    Play and talk

A two-minute game puts the lesson into practice. The question of the week gives the family something to talk about at the table or on the chapa (minibus).

  3. Neyma shows Zito the notebook where she writes down moneyAt home

    Practise with the tins

The challenge of the week and the Spend, Save, Share and Granary tins take the lesson into the child's real money.
